Aims

Operational Research and Business Statistics is the discipline of applying advanced analytical methods to help make better decisions. It gives organizations the power to make more effective decisions and build more productive systems based on:

• more complex data
• consideration of all available options
• careful predictions of outcomes and estimates of risk
• the latest decision tools and techniques

The progamme aims to:

• provide an opportunity of further education for working professionals in the field of Operational Research and Business Statistics.
• offer well-motivated individuals a path for career conversion into the field of Operational Research and Business Statistics.

Programme Structure

Units Requirement 40 units

• Required Courses 25 units
• Elective Courses 9 units
• Dissertation 6 units

This master programme is jointly operated by the Department of Mathematics of Hong Kong Baptist University and Kent Business School of the University of Kent in the United Kingdom.

Students who have satisfactorily completed the programme requirements will be awarded the following two degrees:

Master of Science in Operational Research & Business Statistics (conferred by Hong Kong Baptist University, HK) and Master of Science in Business Analytics (conferred by the University of Kent, UK)*

The University of Kent has an excellent international reputation and Kent Business School has a very strong faculty in both teaching and research. Their experience and expertise, in particular in the area of business and management would give us the strength in practical, operational and managerial areas. The faculty members in the Department of Mathematics of Hong Kong Baptist University have a very strong background in Operational Research & Business Statistics. Therefore, the launch of this joint MSc in Operational Research & Business Statistics programme would be an ideal and perfect match and cooperation between the two universities.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants should normally hold a Bachelor's degree for admission to a Taught Postgraduate degree programme; English Language Requirements: TOEFL - 550 (Paper-based), 79 (Internet-based); or IELTS (Academic): Overall Band at 6.5; or CET-6 (College English Test band 6): 450.
