專業(yè)概況
在這里學(xué)什么?Research conducted at the Faculty of Pharmacy covers a broad spectrum of pharmaceutical and clinical sciences around five key themes: cancer; cardiovascular and diabetes; health services and patient safety; mental health; and respiratory diseases. This course can be studied full or part-time and is awarded on the successful examination of a thesis based on original research. This course may be used as a foundation to the Doctor of Philosophy (Pharmacy).
Our internationally-renowned researchers are experts in a broad spectrum of pharmaceutical and clinical sciences, including: the design, synthesis, testing and mechanism of action of drugs, studies on advanced drug delivery, investigation of the fate of drugs in humans including pharmacogenomics and other aspects of drug disposition, and research on the clinical and sociological aspects of pharmacy and health services research. The faculty offers a wide choice of research areas.
Some current research topics relate to: calcium regulation and cell signaling, cancer and anti-cancer agents, photobiology of drugs and pollutants, radiopharmaceutical agents, formulation and delivery of proteins and drugs, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, pharmaceutical powders, asthma, quality use of medicines, and various issues relating to community pharmacy practice.
Research areas
The degree of Master of Philosophy (MPhil) at the Faculty of Pharmacy will allow you to pursue research from one of a number of fields in which the faculty has expertise. Research at the Faculty of Pharmacy is centred on the five themes of cancer, cardiovascular and diabetes, health services and patient safety, mental health and respiratory disease, closely reflecting the Australian Government's national health priorities.
Research at the faculty recognises the complexity of managing chronic disease states and so our research extends from drug discovery, development and delivery to patient counseling and education with a high level of focus on collaboration.
