If you are a qualified engineer seeking to move into a management role or to specialise or update your skills, the Master of Engineering will build on your engineering undergraduate degree. You?ll develop specialised technical knowledge in geomechanical engineering, learning how to examine soil and rock layers and determine their physical and chemical properties to design foundations and earthworks structures.

This program will allow you to build on your existing engineering undergraduate degree by developing specialised technical knowledge in geomechanical engineering.

Graduate opportunities

Graduates of the Master of Engineering (Geomechanical Engineering) will have achieved the higher levels of specialisation necessary to excel in their chosen field. Professional engineering skills developed throughout the course will reflect current industry standards in order to provide graduates with enhanced opportunities for advancement in their careers. New opportunities to progress into areas such as research and innovation in their field will also be possible following the completion of this course.

Research activities in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies focus on a wide range of areas from aerospace, biomedical, combustion, processing and manufacture, design, robotics, electronics, networks, wireless and satellite systems. If you would like to be part of Sydney's engineering research community, you may consider applying for admission to a research degree. Students completing a Master of Engineering program with outstanding results are eligible to undertake supervised research in the degree of Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Applicants need to have one of the following: a bachelor’s degree with first or second-class honours from the University of Sydney or another approved institution; an equivalent qualification that demonstrates sufficient research experience and capability. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing; IELTS score: A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band; TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing.
