Degree Description

The Lamar University Bachelor of Science Degree in Earth Science is committed to the practical advancement of knowledge; to serving the local, national and world community; and to the education of earth scientists.

This program can bring you success as a geoscientist or science educator. You may find employment in the energy and other resource industries, in Earth system sciences, in government agencies and in K-12 teaching. Space science courses can augment this degree.

You'll have opportunities to work with modern technologies, software, databases and field methods. In addition to traditional courses, we also offer field courses for practical experience. Our facilities include the Lamar Geospatial Center, a lab complete with 21 work stations and an extensive collection research software.
