The Open Studies major allows students to focus on diverse fields such as music of other cultures, piano pedagogy, music technology, sound engineering, theatre, social or behavioral science, or any other areas of interest. Open Studies requires completion of the common requirements for all BMUS degrees and a minimum of 130 semester hours of credit for graduation.

With our land-grant heritage as a foundation, we pioneer innovative research that tackles global problems and expands the human experience. Our transformative learning experiences, in and out of the classroom, are designed to produce alumni who desire to make a significant, societal impact.

為來(lái)自中國(guó)的學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì) Students should complete their high school courses strong grades in these courses. English: 4 years required; Math: 3 or 3.5 years required, 4 years recommended; Social sciences: 2 years required, 4 years recommended; Lab sciences: 2 years required, 4 years recommended; Language other than English: 2 years required, 4 years recommended; Flexible academic units: 2 years required, 4+ years recommended. English language Requirements: International undergraduate students whose total TOEFL scores are 102 (TOEFL iBT) or below (*total IELTS score of 7.0 or below) are required to take the EPT. To be exempt from EPT, students must score either on TOEFL iBT: total 103 or above, and 25 or above on both speaking & writing; or on IELTS: 7.5 or above total, and 7 or above on both speaking and writing.
