專業(yè)概況

在這里學(xué)什么？

This major focuses not only on language, linguistics and literature, but also related areas, such as cultural and literary theory, film studies, the culture of food, and the acquisition and uses of Spanish and English in Los Angeles. The program benefits from USC’s location in Los Angeles, a Spanish-speaking metropolis and an ideal site for thinking about the planet’s transcultural condition. Professors in USC Dornsife’s Spanish department use literature, folklore, cinema, art, music and architecture in small, discussion-driven classes to explore a number of critical contemporary issues. Students of Spanish are also encouraged to study for a semester or a year at various affiliated universities in Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil, and the department offers an intensive summer program in Madrid.

A major or minor in Spanish and Portuguese can complement interests in international relations, political science, business, education, sociology, linguistics, political science... the possibilities are endless.
