專業(yè)概況

在這里學(xué)什么？ This is a joint honours course, where you will study two subjects. Criminology analyses the nature, occurrence and explanations of crime, criminal behaviour and societal responses to these phenomena. On this course you will tackle some of the most fundamental questions behind what makes an act or action a crime and how responses to crime can be analysed from different perspectives and theoretical frameworks. You will also look at historical patterns of crime, how perspectives of crime have changed over time, and explore contemporary criminal justice and policy to crime, anti-social behaviour and disorder. International Relations looks at world power relations in their material, ideational and institutional forms. You will have the opportunity to examine some of the critical issues of modern and contemporary times, such as the changing nature of international cooperation and conflict, the new character of warfare, the impact of globalisation upon states and societies and the persistence of world problems such as poverty, development, environment and human rights issues.
